Coins (part one)

 (From the Visions of Shiloh)

There was a duck who had a gold coin. It dropped the coin and I tried to grab it.  But the duck grabbed it first. This happened several times so I gave up and sat down against a tree.

Then the duck came over and dropped the coin in my lap. Then many animals came and gave me coins until I had a huge pile of them.

Then people who were in need came by and I handed out coins to them.

When we go after our own needs, busying our lives with these pursuits, we never seem to have enough. When we follow the Lord and trust him, our needs will be met. Follow him in your heart and he will take care of you. At the same time, he requires that we help others. With a generous heart, we will have enough for others and then ourselves.

“The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.” - Proverbs 11:25

“What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”
Peter said to him, “From strangers.”
Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt. But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a 'stater' coin. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”  - Matthew 17:25-27

Prayer -

Dear Lord, thank you for provision in my life. Thank you for your grace to survive and have what I need. Please help me to follow you more perfectly and trust in you. Please help me to be gracious and giving like you are. Please help me then to have what I need as I trust you more. Thank you. Amen.
