(From the Visions of Shiloh - continued)
I turn to see a dock on the Island and a fishing boat. A man is scraping barnacles off the boat. It is the Lord. He smiles at me.
There is another scraping tool and I use it to help him.
On the other shore I see many people now that weren’t there before – hundreds of them. They all want to be with Jesus. We are preparing the boat to go get them.
Comments -
Now that the door is open, we can see the work Jesus is doing. He is scraping the barnacles off an old boat. Just as he washed the disciples feet, we must allow him to daily clean these hearts (of ours) from the sin that accumulates on them. We must be open to that and help Him by submitting to the work. Then the boat of our heart will be able to journey back to others.
See how this transformation of your heart is for a purpose? That purpose is to prepare you to be a vessel of love just like Jesus. When your heart is empty of self, clean of all the barnacles that get attached as you go about your daily life, then you will be able to swiftly carry your heart back to those people and carry those people back to God.
Prayer -
Dear Lord please wash this heart and mind daily from the sins I gather in the world. Allow me the grace to surrender to your work again. Prepare my heart to love others who have not yet turned to you. As we leave the island, please allow your presence to go with me today into the world. And remind me to return to you again tomorrow so you can prepare my heart once more. Thank you. Amen
