The Mind of Christ

God has spoken to me in many ways in my life. Sometimes that includes dreams or visions. Here is one that has been very important to me for my whole life.

God showed me a picture of the mind of Christ. At first, from a distance it appeared to be a flat, two-dimensional cross section of the brain. Then the vision brought me closer and I saw how small I was compared to the immense size of it. And I realized it was actually a three-dimensional brain with huge angels hovering all around it. They were carrying fiery swords. This made me very curious, so I asked the Lord, ‘What are those angels?” He answered me - “They are my word.”

Each of the huge angels represented verses of scripture from the Word of God.

"Who has known the mind of the Lord? but we have the mind of Christ" - 1 Corinthians 2:16

His Word defends His mind. God’s truth keeps out everything else.

So if we have the mind of Christ in us, it must be protected by His word. The more we read the word of God, the easier it is for the Holy Spirit to remind us what it says. And the less we are prone to fall under the power of sin. Memorizing scripture is a mental exercise and part of ingesting it into our spiritual being. But then, being baptized in the Holy Spirit is how the word is applied. So don’t just read the word. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it’s depth and truth to you as well. Once you memorize scripture it is with you and the Holy Spirit can remind you of it when you need it.

“These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates.”   - Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Prayer -

Today, dear God, please help me to read and retain more of your word so I can overcome the power of sin in my life. Please help me desire your thoughts above my own and know your mind better. In this way, as my mind is renewed, I will be able to stand strong, understanding your will for my life. Thank you. Amen.
