Through the Rubble

(From the Visions of Shiloh)

There was a horrific scene after a tragedy. A group of us were walking above the rubble. We walked lightly almost as if we could float above it. It was very dark in the rubble below and contrastingly, it was very bright above. People below were reaching up through the debris. We started to grab onto them and pull them out.

In order that those in the world be saved by Christ Jesus, we must at times be the ones who stand between the porch and the altar. The Holy Spirit can keep us above the tragedy in our hearts, giving us the strength and compassion to pull others out. But this takes someone who is covered in grace and prayer, trusting in God, so we cannot be moved. Be very careful not to be pulled down into the rubble. Stand firm in Christ and let him be your leverage alone.

“Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can’t be moved, but remains forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so Yahweh surrounds his people from this time forward and forever more.”  - Psalm 125:1-2

“But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. On some have compassion, making a distinction, and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.”  -Jude 1:20-23

Prayer -

Thank you Jesus for your strength in these difficult times when people need your salvation so desperately. Please be my strength as I trust only in you, so that I may be used to help others out of their difficulty and pull them up to you by grace. Please save them and keep me in your Love, protected at all times. Thank you. Amen.
