(From the Visions of Shiloh)
1st – A man was trying to remove a sword from a stone. He tried several times but, could not. Then the Lord removed it and gave it to him. Then the man led an army. There was a drought. So he cut the sky with the sword and it began to rain.
2nd – Someone was crying while sitting by a tree. She was upset that she couldn’t get something inside the tree. The Lord walked up and reached into the tree through a bee’s nest. He pulled out a honeycomb and gave it to her. She began to eat the honeycomb and found a diamond ring inside of it.
3rd – Another man was on a roof, putting shingles on it. Every time he reached for one shingle, several would fall off the roof. This continued until the pile was almost gone. Then the pile was back and the Lord sat there, handing him shingles.

Whatever we do in this life, be it for ourselves or others or God, we cannot get far in our own strength. Building or repairing a house, like building or repairing a shelter from the storms is so much easier with the Lord’s help. Building our life on God’s foundation without help from God, is not doing it right. Religion itself is not enough.
Trying to provide for ourselves and find the sweet life without trusting God is a good way to starve. Inside the honeycomb is a ring. Commitment to God yields the provisions of God.
And fighting our own battles alone, unarmed, will leave us vulnerable. God must lead the battle through us. The word of God is our weapon and the tool by which we can end the drought. But God must be the one who hands it to us. Spending time to turn to God before facing our tasks, or searching for our needs or fighting our battles is the key to our victory.
“See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?” - Matthew 6:26
Prayer -
Dearest savior, please draw near to me today as I draw near to you. You see the repairs that need done to my life and the provisions I lack and the enemies that threaten me. I turn to you and ask that you provide the tools I need to make it through another day. I surrender to you and ask for your help in everything. Stay by my side through it all. Thank you. Amen.
